Back from the outback
11 September 2009
For the past two weeks I've been on holidays in the outback. I travelled to Birdsville in western Queensland for the infamous Birdsville Races 4-5 September 2009.

As well as the Birdsville Races I went to the Quilpie Street Festival, Lake Machattie, Bilpa Morea Claypan, Bedourie Hotel, Big Red, Brophy's Boxing Tent and Jundah Hotel. It was an amazing experience that I won't forget.

The landscapes and sunsets, the lovely people of Quilpie, Jundah, Bedourie, Birdsville and Roma, the countless kangaroos, the majestic Wedge-tailed eagles and even the flies all make Queensland's outback such a unique place. I recommend you make the trip if you get the chance.
Winner!
31 August 2009
Proud and sore, I finished the Bridge to Brisbane race. It was a huge event with a record breaking crowd of 45,000 participants, a DJ to keep us moving under the Gateway overpass, frequent sprays of water to keep us cool, free watermelon, a change of T-shirt and a hearty breakfast at the finish line. My team and I had so much fun and can't wait until next year's event. Here's a picture of us pre-race:

On Sunday 30 August 2009 I will be taking to the streets and joining the Bridge to Brisbane race, raising funds for the Heart Foundation. I am now in the fourth week of the 10-Week Challenge and have already noticed a significant improvement in my fitness. Each week my team and I are setting new goals to push us further and harder. If you're interested in participating in the race and the free training sessions go to Bridge to Brisbane and join us on the day!
